Mr. Strait holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science from Weber State University, where he graduated Cum Laude. While attending WSU, Mr. Strait performed as a member of the Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra and as a soloist on marimba. Prior to attending Weber State University, he was a member of the New Mexico State University competitive indoor drum line and placed 3rd in the Percussive Arts Society International Convention collegiate tenor drum solo competition. In addition to university ensembles, Mr. Strait has performed with the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra, the Ogden Mustangs Drum line, and the Patriots Drum & Bugle Corps of Rochester, NY. Mr. Strait was a member of Weber State Indoor Percussion's instructional staff from 2012 to 2016 and has coached percussion at several area high schools. He is also an active percussion clinician in northern Utah. Mr. Strait has studied orchestral, chamber, solo, and marching percussion performance under Professor Sam Bryson, Dr. Fred Bugbee, Jeff Ausdemore, and Chris Romanowski. He proudly served as a member of the United States Army Reserve from 2011 to 2017.
