Sixth grade scholars at Capstone are self contained and trained in the elements of Core Knowledge before heading into the 7/8 hub system. These scholars spend hours studying the great classics, reading Shakespeare, Dickens, and Twain, as well as studying significant periods of history and science. They are immersed in Singapore Math and given time to practice mental math and grasp mathematical concepts that will prepare them for course 2 and 3 in the upper middle school grades.  These scholars also engage in classical art, studying the time periods that they are covering in history, alongside classical music of the period. They enjoy a PE class once a week and learn team sports as well as have opportunities for individual sports such as cross country and archery. Scholars enjoyed a Snow Ball this year, as well as a number of other community service events to build social and emotional stability.
